NODUS TALKS series is organized by NODUS Sustainable Design Research Group of Aalto University, bringing together researchers and practitioners on topics relevant to design, innovation and sustainability. Presentations will be followed by a panel discussion, both held in English.

MARCO STEINBERG is an architect and the founder of Snowcone and Haystack, a Helsinki based strategic design practice. In his talk, he will take a critical stance on the idea of pilots, calling for more transformative strategies in our models of governance.

RAMIA MAZÉ is Professor of New Frontiers in Design at Aalto, leading its Design for Government course. She will talk about design roles and design issues within government, particularly given the contemporary expansion of the ‘instruments’ of governance including pilots.
